About the Park & the Conservancy
In 1995 a group of concerned citizens met to explore ways they could help restore the look of Verona Park. As a result, a non-profit organization was established to work with the Essex County Parks Department to restore the park to its former glory as originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers. In 1997, the Conservancy and Essex County signed a partnership agreement that allows the Conservancy to propose, assist and, in some cases, implement its own projects for the betterment of the park.
The Verona Park Conservancy is a public, non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization that is dedicated to working with the Essex County Parks Department and the public to maintain, beautify and improve Verona Park's appearance and facilities for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
